While the mystics gather on the Moon, Lois reports on the loss of Superman. Adam Strange is released from Arkham Asylum and he collects scientist Ray Palmer, as the braintrust comes up with a plan to take on Dinosaur Island.

The scientists present their plan to the gathered heroes: slow the island down, then bombard it with white dwarf rays, causing it to explode.

The heroes execute the plan successfully, and Aquaman arrives with a final surprise.

Set to the words of John F. Kennedy's presidential nomination acceptance speech, the new age of heroes is celebrated. The story ends with the Justice League of America taking on their first foe, Starro.
