Young Diana grows up on Themyscira following her studies and developing her athletic skills but she finds herself constantly wondering about the unknown of the outside world. Meanwhile, Steve Trevor goes through his military training along with his best friend, Nick. Despite Nick's influence, Steve remains a loner while Nick gets married and has a baby. Steve and Nick's unit is deployed but their plane crashes on Themyscira, killing all on board except for Steve, who is badly injured.

This issue is essentially a reprint of Wonder Woman (2016 series) #2, but with the cover from issue #4. The cover for issue #4 was also used for the collected edition of the Year One storyline. Presumably it was used here so that if someone wanted to read the continuation of the story, it would be easier to identify the collected edition.
